Finding Luke
Lost for 13 days, this lovable lab is found and reunited with his family!
The big mission of summer 2013 was the search for Luke, a big, lovable lab who became lost in the "wilds" of Menifee. Missing for 13 days, he managed to outsmart coyotes, find water, and survive the elements.
Luke's family, MVHS, and volunteers, along with Pet Detective Judy Britton scoured the countryside night and day searching for Luke. MVHS President, Nina Medina, found Luke hiding in a large storm drain and nearly caught him, but Luke had become scared and fearful of people and ran away.
Luke was finally reunited with his daddy Eddie and family when he was spotted on a ranch drinking from a well. The many large signs and banners about Luke throughout the area caught the attention of the ranch owner who alerted Luke's family.
Luke lost 15 lbs during his ordeal and his paws were raw and bloody from the harsh terrain. Luke has now fully recovered from his big adventure and he even had a party to celebrate his return home.
